Conventional fragrances can disrupt hormones and contribute to cancer
The FDA hasn't updated cosmetic safety laws since 1938! As a result, many cosmetics are unsafe.
Canada and the EU have banned over 1,300 chemicals in their makeup but the US only prohibits 11!
Thankfully less toxic cosmetic options are becoming more readily available. Given the wide range available, it's challenging to list them all.
Instead, here are some recommended “clean” brands. For individual product safety, refer to the Think Dirty or EWG apps—products rated 3 or below are generally considered acceptable and the lower the score the better.
